The Los Angeles Dodgers made one of the biggest signings of the offseason after landing Freddie Freeman. Naturally, a lot of people in LA are excited about the newest star in Hollywood, including Los Angeles Lakers icon Magic Johnson.

On Friday, Johnson officially welcomed Freeman to the City of Angels. The Lakers legend also expressed his belief that the Dodgers are “positioned to have a great and exciting season” with the arrival of the veteran first baseman.

The Dodgers signed Freddie Freeman to a reported six-year, $162 million deal. The team faced a ton of competition for the 2020 MVP this offseason, but they managed to pull off the deal that made them even more dangerous heading to the 2022 campaign.

As Magic Johnson said it, the addition of Freeman puts the Dodgers in a position not only to come out on top of the NL, but also win the World Series in the upcoming campaign. Aside from the former Atlanta Braves star, it is worth noting that LA also has the likes of Mookie Betts, Trea Turner and Walker Buehler leading the charge.

Of course it remains to be seen how the new pieces will fit together, but Dodgers fans have every reason to believe it will work out given the talent and experience the team have.
