Los Angeles Dodgers SP Tony Gonsolin is fresh off of an All-Star 2022 season. The right-hander ultimately posted a sparking 2.14 ERA for Los Angeles. However, he was limited to just 24 games pitched during the regular season due to injury. Gonsolin shared his next step forward as he aims for a full and healthy 2023 campaign, via si.com's Jeff J. Snider.

“Just trying to get stronger over the offseason, get everything feeling good, feeling right. Doing a little mechanical changes to try and stay healthy all year and that's the goal, to stay healthy all year and let the results show for themselves,” Gonsolin recently told Bally Sports West's Patrick O'Neal.

The Dodgers have always believed in Tony Gonsolin's ability. But he has yet to pitch in more than 24 games in a single season. The right-hander pitched in 11 games in 2019, 9 games in 2020, and 15 games in 2021. But he's never recorded an ERA of over 3.23 during that span. In other words, he's been extremely effective in limited action.

But the Dodgers, who were unable to avoid arbitration with him, need to decide on what the future holds for Gonsolin. A contract extension is a possibility.

For now, Tony Gonsolin is focused on preparing for the 2023 campaign. As Gonsolin stated, he's made minor mechanical changes to go along with added strength which could lead to a healthier season. If he performs well once again in 2023, LA may have no choice but to extend him at some point down the road.

This upcoming year will be an important one for the Dodgers' 2022 All-Star right-handed pitcher.
