Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager is set to become a free agent after denying the team's qualifying offer of $18.4 million. To be frank, they would've been ecstatic if he accepted it because that would be a massive bargain for one of the best players at his position in the big leagues.

That being said, Seager is going to be one of the hottest names on the market this winter, but the Dodgers are still very keen on locking up the former World Series MVP long-term, despite trading for Trea Turner this past summer. Via Jon Heyman:

Turner was brought in to make up for the loss of Seager, who went on the shelf in May with a thumb injury after being hit by a pitch. In 95 games, the slugger hit .306 with 16 homers and 57 RBI's. An SS/2B combo of Seager and Turner up the middle is absolutely deadly and after all, Seager has been a massive part of the Dodgers' success over the last number of years. But, LA will certainly have to cough up a lot of money in order to keep the two-time All-Star.

The Dodgers have a total of 11 free agents to deal with this offseason, but Seager is undoubtedly the most important one. Nevertheless, many different teams will be calling for his services after a very successful six years in the Majors to this point.
