Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (and his name) has caused quite a stir recently as famed ESPN personality Adam Schefter gets dragged into controversy by a fan. Schefter, who's been an NFL insider since 2009, is probably quite used to getting fan mail by now but on Wednesday, the 54-year-old got an alarming letter from a fan for allegedly butchering the QB's name.

Schefter took to Twitter to show the world the interesting NSFW letter he got addressed to him and ESPN colleague Field Yates:

In the letter, the fan who identified himself as a former radio announcer and voice artist, claimed that both Schefter and Yates constantly keep mispronouncing Tua's last name.

“So, I know how to pronounce the words… the problem is, YOU DONT!” the fan wrote. “You regularly and routinely f— up the name of the Miami quarterback. His name is Tua Tagovailoa. ‘too-ah tag-oh-vi-lo-ah'. Yet, you two a–holes regularly, and continuusly, mispronounce it when you say ‘Tua TANGO-vi-loa'. There's no ‘tango' in his name,”

Strong words from the former radio announcer. Unfortunately, for the enraged fan, he is clearly mistaken.

Schefter went on to post a follow-up tweet to prove that he, alongside Yates, was actually addressing Tua Tagovailoa correctly – straight from the Dolphins QB himself:

It doesn't get any clearer than that. To be fair, Tua's surname is a bit challenging to pronounce, especially since it is said not the way it's spelled. As per the Honolulu native, his last name is actually pronounced ‘tongue-oh-vai-lo-ah' contrary to what the fan was saying. That being said, props to the fan for being oh-so-brave in writing that passionate latter.
