Miami Dolphins wide receiver Albert Wilson made some noise recently about being the best yards after catch receiver in the entire league after less than half a good season. And now, Wilson has suffered a significant hip injury he suffered on Sunday against the Lions which could potentially cut his once-promising season short.

Wilson is in his first season in Miami after spending the first four years of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs and was well on course toward a career year. He has emerged as the top receiver on the Dolphins, leading the team with 391 yards and four touchdowns on 26 catches through his first seven games.

With Wilson out for the foreseeable future, the Dolphins will have to rely on their other receiving weapons in Danny Amendola, Kenny Stills, and Jakeem Grant to help carry the load on offense.

It remains to be seen whether Wilson’s injury will have any effect on the Dolphins’ plans with former first-round pick DeVante Parker. The Dolphins have been shopping the young receiver of late, with the Eagles one team that’s expressed some interest.

Parker, who was inactive in their loss to the Lions on Sunday, has played just two games this season following offseason finger injury, making two catches for 40 yards.
