The Miami Dolphins have signed wide receiver Allen Hurns, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Hurns was released by the Dallas Cowboys earlier this week. He spent all of 2018 with the Cowboys, playing in all 16 games and catching 20 passes for 295 yards and a couple of touchdowns. However, he suffered a gruesome broken fibula injury during the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Miami, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2014.

He was a pleasant surprise for the Jaguars during his rookie year, snaring 51 balls for 677 yards and six scores. Then, the following season, Hurns broke out, hauling in 64 receptions for 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Injuries then began to derail Hurns during his final couple of years in Jacksonville, as he played in a combined 21 games between 2016 and 2017. He posted similar numbers both seasons, logging 35 catches for 477 yards and three scores in 2016 and then registering 39 receptions for 484 yards and a couple of touchdowns in 2017.

But, due to his inability to stay healthy, the Jaguars cut Hurns in March of 2018, two years after signing him to a four-year, $40 million contract extension. He then went on to sign a two-year deal with the Cowboys shortly after being released.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins won just seven games this past season, and many feel that they could end up being the worst team in the NFL in 2019. Miami has made only one playoff appearance since 2009 and has not won a playoff game since the 2000 campaign.
