Miami Dolphins defensive end Charles Harris has been a bit of a disappointment since coming into the league in 2017, but new coach Brian Flores is excited about what he has seen.

“I can't say enough good things about him,” Flores said via ESPN. “He's the kind of guy we want in the building. Honestly, I don't care about his past. I care about right now. That's where I'm at. … He's really doing a good job for us in the classroom, on the field. He's smart. He's hard-working. He's got a lot of ability.”

After a standout career with the Missouri Tigers, Harris was drafted in the first round in 2017. He was drafted because of his ability to rush the passer but since coming into the league, Harris only has had three sacks.

Harris hasn't been a full participant yet this offseason while dealing with an injured wrist, but he has still shown Flores enough for him to get excited.

It's a good sign that Harris is starting to show some signs of life because another bad year this year and the talk of being a bust will start to surround his name. Why Harris struggled the last couple of years with the Dolphins is still a mystery, but maybe all he needs is a system to change to get his game back on the right level.

It's still only June and the season starting is still a couple of months away, but right now, all signs are pointing towards Harris being an important member of the defense.
