Miami Dolphins quarterback Josh Rosen is slowly learning his new offense, but coach Brian Flores knows there is still a long way to go. Even though it's taking a little while to learn the new system Flores has been impressed with just how smart the former UCLA quarterback is.

“He’s smart,” Flores said this week via the Palm Beach Post. “He’s got a big arm. He’s talented. He’s got some leadership ability. But he’s got a lot to learn. There’s no doubt about that. This offense, it’s not an easy one to learn. There’s something new every day. He’s improving, he’s getting better every day. I like that.”

With Rosen arriving with the team later than Ryan Fitzpatrick, it seems the veteran quarterback does have a leg up on the second year player, but the hope is that once both guys know the playbook equally, it will be a fair battle that will rage on during training camp.

Coming out of UCLA the talk about Rosen was about his big arm and Dolphins receivers have taken notice.

“Really everything,” Kenny Stills said. “I don’t know what the right word is for it, but it doesn’t look like it’s coming fast and then it gets in front of your face and you see that it’s spinning well and it has some velocity behind it. He’s a great player and he has a bright future.”

If Rosen does win the starting job he is going to have plenty of opportunities throughout the season to show off that big arm and smarts that everyone is talking about.
