The Miami Dolphins still have not settled their quarterback situation heading into the 2019 campaign, and while the general consensus is that Ryan Tannehill will not be back next season, the Dolphins apparently still have not made a decision on him.

“You know right now everything is kind of process. I’ve been here three and a half weeks,” said new Dolphins head coach Brian Flores when asked about Tannehill, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. “Again, we’ve gone through the evaluation of the roster, and everything is in process. We still have the time. We’ve obviously made some evaluations, but we’ve still got time to make those decisions.”

Tannehill is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he started 11 games and threw for 1,979 yards, 17 touchdowns, and nine interceptions while completing 64.2 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 92.7.

Given that he had been a member of the New England Patriots' coaching staff since 2004, Flores is very familiar with what Tannehill brings to the table.

“I’ve been playing against Ryan [a long time], and he’s had some success against me personally,” said Flores, who served as the Patriots' defensive coordinator from 2016 through this past season. “I think the last game we played. He’s done a really good job. But those things are in process right now. We haven’t made any final decisions. Everything is on the table. [General Manager] Chris [Grier] and I are aligned on that. Again, we’ve talked about the types of guys we want in our program. That part of it, as far as the evaluations and getting everybody on the same page has been good.”

Tannehill has been in the league since 2012.
