The Dallas Cowboys released defensive end Taco Charlton after two unsuccessful years as a 2017 first-round pick. The Miami Dolphins scooped him off of waivers. With Dallas hosting Miami on Sunday, is there a possibility of a (fish) Taco revenge game?

“There’s a possibility,” as Dolphins coach Brian Flores said on Friday, via The Athletic's Jon Machota.

“It would be a tough thing to do, obviously. He wants to play,” said Flores. “The kid loves football. That’s clear. Hopefully if we can get him up to speed, then maybe. It’s a tough thing to do, though, so no promises on that. He knows that. But he’s been in meetings, he’s been asking questions. He’s very eager to get in there, whether it’s scout team to defensively, so with that type of attitude, he’ll be in there sooner than later.”

The problem with playing Charlton on Sunday is that the team officially added him on Thursday, meaning he'd have a three-day turnaround to learn the playbook, get acclimated to coaches and teammates and earn a spot on the active roster. Luckily, he won't have to scout his old team heavily, as he was a member of them less than a week ago.

A Taco revenge game is undoubtedly enticing. The No. 28 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Charlton was one of Dallas' rare recent draft picks to bust, as he recorded four sacks in two seasons.

The Cowboys didn't activate him during the first two weeks of the season, which led to him asking to be freed, which he got; but will he play them shortly after?
