Miami Dolphins wide receiver Danny Amendola spent the best years of his career in a New England Patriots uniform. However, he now finds himself on the opposite sideline for the Week 4 matchup in Foxborough.

Amendola will undoubtedly have his fair share of nostalgia visiting his former team. He says he is admittedly excited to play against the Patriots, via Matt Vautour of Mass Live:

“I'm going to be on the other side of the field. That's it,” said Amendola, “I've played there before so I've had a lot of experience playing there. I'm excited to get back up there.”

The Patriots parted ways with a number of their weapons on offense from last year. Amendola spent five seasons in New England before his departure this offseason. He was not on the market for long after signing a two-year deal with the Dolphins.

There is good reason for Amendola to be excited. Not much was expected from Miami going into the season. However, his Dolphins are currently one of just three teams that are still undefeated heading into Week 4. More importantly, they have built an early lead over the Patriots atop the AFC East. He is hoping that his familiarity with New England can help them maintain their lead in the division.

Amendola has taken on a modest role in the Dolphins offense thus far in the season. He has hauled in 11-of-13 targets for 100 yards through the first three games. It is safe to assume that he will be looking for a breakout performance this week.
