In the weeks ahead of the season opener, Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker has been recovering from a broken finger he suffered in training camp.

According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, it now appears Parker could possibly miss Week 1 action against the Tennessee Titans, as he's currently listed as doubtful for the contest.

The Dolphins listed Parker as doubtful to play in the season opener. He’s the only Miami player with an injury designation for the opening weekend.

Parker is working his way back from an injury that typically takes a few weeks to completely heal, which has put much uncertainty on his availability for Sunday's game. He has been targeting a return for the season opener, but the Dolphins likely won't play him if he isn't fully ready to avoid it lingering on or a potential setback if not handled properly.

Miami is hoping that the 25-year-old can step forward with a breakout 2018 campaign, as he has a chance to lock up the No.1 wide receiver role in the passing game with Pro Bowler Jarvis Landry out of the picture.

Parker has an opportunity to finally produce up to the expectations that were set for him as a former first-round pick. He has shown flashes of potential to develop into a rising star in the league, but injuries have played a factor in limiting his production and ability on the field.

Parker is coming off a solid 2017 season where he made a career-high 57 catches for 670 receiving yards and a touchdown in 13 games played. If he's unable to give it a go for the season opener, the Dolphins will likely lean on Danny Amendola and Kenny Stills to carry the workload in the passing game.
