It has been nothing short of a struggle for Miami Dolphins veteran wide receiver DeVante Parker to stay on the field this season.

Parker is dealing with yet another nagging injury as he has been working to get past a quadriceps issue that has flared up over the last couple of weeks. According to Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post, the 25-year-old voiced on Thursday that he was unsure if he would be able to play in Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.

“I’m not really sure,” Parker said. “I’m just going a day at a time and working my way back in there.”

DeVante Parker has played in just one game this season that occurred back in Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders where he hauled in two of his three targets for 40 receiving yards. He had missed the first two games played as he was recovering from finger surgery that occurred in mid-August. He has now missed the last two games due to a quadriceps injury that pushed the team's level of frustration with the situation to explore the trade market.

There had initially been much hope that he could put together a breakout 2018 campaign with the opportunity in front of him to become the No.1 receiving option in the passing game with Jarvis Landry out of the picture. Instead, he has struggled to get past injuries that have prevented him from even making a case for that responsibility.

The Dolphins will have to continue to depend greatly on wide receivers Kenny Stills, Danny Amendola, and Albert Wilson to carry the passing game in his absence. When healthy, he has shown to have promising talent that could translate into him becoming a star in the league at his position. It's just a matter of him staying healthy through the duration of this season whenever he does make his return.
