DeVante Parker started the 2018 NFL season off incredibly slow, not even getting playing time early on. After a full offseason of hype surrounding him, that start was not what he was looking for. Thankfully, over the last few weeks, he has gotten himself onto the field and has been making a difference for the Miami Dolphins.

In the Dolphins' game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Parker suffered an injury. According to a report from Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Parker sustained a sprain to his AC join yesterday.

At 25 years old, Parker is in his prime, and the Dolphins desperately need to find a lead wide receiver. After Jarvis Landry left the last offseason, most thought that Parker would step up for Miami.

In the five games that he has played this season for Miami, Parker caught 14 passes for 225 yards but was unable to get into the end zone. Against the Packers before the injury, Parker had caught five passes for 43 yards.

Hopefully, the injury won't keep Parker out too long. He is crucial to the Dolphins' offense, and they need to get an idea of what they will get with him if they keep him moving forward. Parker needs as much time on the field as he can get as well to continue his development.

Miami's next few games will decide whether they can make a run at a playoff spot or not. They will face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 12 after their bye week and will then play the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots at home and then on the road against the Minnesota Vikings.

Expect to see Parker return at some point in the next couple of weeks. His injury doesn't sound serious, but it could be annoying enough to force him to miss some time.
