The Miami Dolphins have surrounded quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with a much better supporting cast heading into his third season. Tagovailoa will have a new head coach, new number-one wide receiver and new offensive tackle protecting him on the line. Things should be much better for the Alabama product in 2022. Apparently, things are already better. Tagovailoa held a Luau for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Miami, an event that McDaniel, offensive coordinator Frank Smith and quarterbacks coach Darrell Bevell attended. The Dolphins signal-caller praised his new head coach while seemingly throwing shade at former coach Brian Flores. Or did he? You be the judge. Here are Tagovailoa's words via Pro Football Talk.

“To be able to have our OC, my quarterbacks coach, our head coach here in support of this, I’ve never witnessed that,” Tagovailoa told CBS Miami.

Tagovailoa praised McDaniel, his offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for supporting him in that way. The Dolphins' signal-caller went as far to say that he's “never witnessed that.” Is that a dig at Brian Flores?

One of the Dolphins' rumored reasons for moving on from Flores was due to a disconnect between he and the front office on Tagovailoa. Perhaps the young signal-caller never truly felt supported by Flores but feels that way now with McDaniel and company?

It certainly seems that way, judging by Tagovailoa's comments. If he's finally feeling the support of the organization and has the best talent he's ever had around him, perhaps fans will see a different version of Tagovailoa in 2022.
