Free agent offensive lineman Ereck Flowers agreed to a deal with the Miami Dolphins on the NFL's first day of free agency on Monday. Flowers, 25, arrived at a massive three-year, $30 million with the Dolphins, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Flowers will have nearly $20 million of his new deal guaranteed, per Schefter.

The former New York Giants tackle revitalized his career with the Washington Redskins this past season. The Giants selected Flowers with the ninth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, however, he soon became much-maligned by fans and a scapegoat for failures as pass rushers plowed through his presence on the offensive line.

Flowers was released by the Giants in Oct. 2018, later joining the Jacksonville Jaguars mid-season and former head coach Tom Coughlin, who had since returned to the Jaguars as executive vice president (Coughlin was dismissed in December of last year).

Last offseason Flowers signed a one-year deal with the Redskins worth $4 million. Flowers saw improvements as he moved to guard instead of tackle on the offense line in mainly protecting Washington rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

The Redskins re-signed linebacker Jon Bostic to a two-year contract on Monday—their sole move so far—but are expected to finally trade Pro Bowl tackle Trent Williams this spring.

The Dolphins also made a few moves on the first day of free agency, signing cornerback Byron Jones, defensive end Shaq Lawson, and linebacker Kyle Van Noy. It should be a busy offseason for Miami as they try to rebuild from a down year in 2019 during Brian Flores's first season as head coach.
