Miami Dolphins running back Frank Fore was carted to the locker room after suffering an apparent ankle injury in his team's game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Gore had carried the ball five times for 14 yards before exiting.

The 35-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins last March and was enjoying a pretty solid season up until his injury today, totaling 722 yards on 156 yards. Gore's lone touchdown this season, however, has come as a receiver.

Gore, who played his collegiate football at the University of Miami, was originally selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round (65th pick overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft.

He had a solid rookie campaign, rushing for 608 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 4.8 yards per carry. The following year, Gore broke out, racking up 1,695 yards and eight scores on the ground while adding 61 catches for 485 yards and a touchdown en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Gore spent the first 10 years of his NFL career in San Francisco, making five trips to Honolulu before signing with the Indianapolis Colts in 2015.

The Coral Gables, Fl. native then spent three years with the Colts, having one 1,000-yard campaign in 2016. However, his time in Indianapolis was relatively unproductive as a whole, as he failed to record four yards per attempt in any one of those seasons.

Miami came into Sunday's action with playoff hopes, sporting a 7-6 record. However, by way of tiebreakers, the Baltimore Ravens—also 7-6—came into the weekend holding the final playoff spot in the AFC.
