The Miami Dolphins have already made some substantial changes this offseason. It appears their recent moves will not have any effect on running back Frank Gore's plans for the 2019 NFL season.

Gore is set to hit the market as a free agent this offseason. According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, he intends to return for another year regardless of whether or not Miami signs him:

The Dolphins haven’t conveyed to impending free agent running back Frank Gore whether they intend to re-sign him, but Gore intends to continue his career regardless, according to a source briefed on the situation.

According to a team source, the Dolphins have been weighing whether to keep Gore as they embark on a rebuilding project.

But Gore intends to keep playing whether the Dolphins retain him or not. Though the former UM standout and South Florida native loves playing for the Dolphins, he’s willing to play elsewhere if the Dolphins decide to move on.

There is no question that Gore has been in the final stretch of his career for the last several years. The veteran continues to defy Father Time as one of the more consistent, dependable backs in the NFL. It seems he will be looking to keep it going next season.

There is good reason for Gore to still have confidence in his ability. Although he was initially brought in as a complementary option to running back Kenyan Drake, there were times where he took over the backfield and wielded a majority of the touches.

As a result, he was able to enjoy some modest production in Miami. He finished the 2018 campaign with 722 yards on 156 touches.

The Dolphins are seemingly intent on ushering in a new era on offense. This could start with an immediate change under center following the uncertain future of quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

Regardless, it is safe to say that Gore will serve as a stabilizing factor for whichever team he ends up with this offseason.
