The Miami Dolphins are a team trying to break out of the shadow of the dominant division rival New England Patriots. The AFC East has been owned by Tom Brady and company are almost two decades with Miami struggling to keep up.

Fortunately for Miami, the team was able to bolster their running game during the NFL offseason. The team has a talented back in Kenyan Drake and now have added veteran Frank Gore. The Miami native has finally returned home after a long career in the league and claims he always knew he'd wear a Dolphins jersey at some point, via Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald.

“I remember when Bobby McCain, when he was in his rookie or second year, we trained together over the summer,” Gore said. “I told him before the end, I’m going to be in the locker room with you. I remember when I signed, he said ‘Boy, you were right.’ I’m happy to be here. Now I just want to show everybody that I still can play.”

Gore is the ideal example of consistency at the running back position. The veteran back has been able to stay healthy while producing year in and year out during his stints with the San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts.

The 35-year-old has played in all 16 games for six straight seasons while rushing for at least 961 yards or more. Gore has also reached the end zone four times or more every season during that span and should be a solid option coming out of the backfield for Miami moving forward.
