The Miami Dolphins were not exactly a good offensive team in 2018, as they finished 31st in yards and 25th in points per game.

Their record reflected their offensive ineptitude, as they went just 7-9 and missed the playoffs.

Dolphins offensive lineman Ja'Wuan James says one of the biggest reasons for the team's inability to produce points was because it didn't know who it was on that side of the football:

“All year, we never had an offensive identity,” James said, according to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com. “When things go really wrong, you don’t know what to go to if you don’t have any identity. You just end up trying random stuff.”

James will be a free agent in March, so who knows if he will even be back with the Dolphins next season:

“I'm looking forward to free agency,” James said. “We'll see how they feel about me.”

James has not exactly been a consistent force along Miami's offensive line during his five seasons with the team, playing in just seven games in 2015 and eight in 2017, but he has still been one of the Dolphins' best linemen when he is on the field.

Fellow Dolphins offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil hopes Miami is able to bring back James:

“He’s huge for us. We are a better team with him. I love playing with him. I hope I can again next year,” Tunsil said. “But he definitely has to do what’s best for him moneywise, too. I'm excited for him to get this opportunity.”
