Jordan Howard is familiar with helping a team go from irrelevancy to the playoffs and he's hoping to do the same with the Miami Dolphins. Despite the uncertainties surrounding the team, Howard chose to sign with the Dolphins due to the opportunity of playing for a team that could rise to contention in the future.

In a conversation with the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Howard spoke about his decision to join Miami:

“I just liked the opportunity it presented,” Howard told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “I felt like we're turning things around down here, I just wanted to be a part of that. I was part of a turnaround in Chicago, so I embrace those type of things.”

Back in 2018, Howard had just finished his third consecutive season as the leading rusher for the Chicago Bears. At the same time, he was a vital part of a Chicago team that made a drastic turnaround.

Just the season prior, the Bears finished with a 5-11 record, which was good enough for last place in the NFC North. However, in Matt Nagy's first year as head coach in 2018, Chicago would improve to 12-4, winning the NFC North crown.

Last season, Howard joined the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year deal. Sadly, a shoulder ailment would limit Howard to 10 games with the Eagles. Nonetheless, he's healthy again and figures to have a decent-sized role with his new team entering the 2020 season. While Howard has experienced a rapid shift of success before in his career, he's confident the same can take place in Miami.
