Veteran Dolphins left guard Josh Sitton expects to be released from the team shortly, according to a new report from those familiar with the matter.

According to NBC Sports, Sitton's removal from the team is to be expected, as the team is looking to move on from its veteran members. Sitton, who has been with the team for several years, is one such veteran that may be finding himself without a position by the time the NFL draft deadline approaches.

“If the team does move on without Josh Sitton, they won’t have gotten much return on that investment. He tore his rotator cuff in the season opener and went on injured reserve for the remainder of the year. Cutting Sitton would create $5 million in cap space for the Dolphins, who could have another change up front with right tackle Ja'Wuan James heading for free agency.”

This isn't the first time that Sitton has found himself without a team. The Dolphins, who had him on board for two years, took him on after the Chicago Bears decided not to renew his contract. And, for what it's worth, the Miami Herald doesn't necessarily think that Sitton getting cut from the team is a certainty, especially since he's listed to play with the Dolphins until at least 2020.

It will be interesting to see if Sitton stays on with the team, gets a contract extension, or becomes a free agent yet again before joining yet another team. We will keep you posted as these stories develop.
