The Miami Dolphins are beginning a new era as Brian Flores takes the title of head coach for his first season in 2019. To begin training camp, Flores has already shaken some things up.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Kalen Ballage was taking first-team reps over Kenyan Drake. This is a bit of a surprise as Drake flashed his potential in the offense in 2018.

In 2018, Drake started in seven games and was a dual-threat weapon out of the backfield. The Alabama product rushed for 535 yards and four touchdowns while adding 53 catches for 477 yards and another five scores through the air.

It was expected that Drake would get the nod in the backfield but that may not be the case. Ballage is taking snaps with the first-teamers even though he wasn't utilized much in 2018.

As for Ballage, he didn't start in any games last year and only touched the ball 45 times in the offense. Although, the Dolphins spent a fourth-round pick on him in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Flores has brought Chad O'Shea with him from the New England Patriots to be the offensive coordinator. It remains to be seen what O'Shea's plan is for the Dolphins running back duo.

Although, it seems like Ballage could end up being the starting back while Drake is the change of pace back. As training camp continues to unfold, we'll see the Dolphins offense begin to take shape.

For now, Kalen Ballage is getting the nod over Kenyan Drake as the running back for the Dolphins but time will tell if that remains the same when the season begins.
