Robert Quinn might not be going anywhere after all. For a long time, the reporting has indicated the Miami Dolphins are shopping the pass-rusher and would cut him if they couldn't find a trade partner. But now, the Dolphins are changing their tune.

Speaking at this week's owners' meetings, new Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said Quinn could remain a Dolphin in 2019.

“We can keep him on this roster if we have to. He’s a good player; he’s got value,” Grier said, per Adam Beasley of The Miami Herald.

Of course, this could all be a leverage play by the Dolphins to try to get a potential trade partner to cough up a better draft pick. It's possible they don't like the current offers, since teams knew they were planning on releasing Quinn. Grier did still indicate the team's preference is to trade Quinn, saying the defensive end “probably fits some other schemes a little bit better in terms of what he does so he and his agent and other teams are talking to us about it and that’s where we are right now with that.”

Quinn was once one of the league's best pass-rushers, but his production has dipped a bit in recent years. He started his career with the Rams and became a star in St. Louis, racking up 19 sacks in 2013. He was never the same after that, though; the Rams traded him to the Dolphins before last season.

Still only 28, Quinn is heading into the final year of his contract and is set to make $11.8 million in 2019. Both the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints have shown interest in Quinn, and both clubs met with him recently. We should know more on the situation as we get closer to the draft.
