Black Monday rears its ugly head again, and the end of the 2019 NFL season has taken the job security of various head-coaching positions today. For the Miami Dolphins, though, offensive coordinator Chad O'Shea has found himself out of a job and off rookie head coach Brian Flores' staff, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

O'Shea, 47, joined Flores' staff in Miami as another one jumping ship from the New England Patriots. The now-former offensive coordinator of the Dolphins spent a single season in Miami after 10 years with the Patriots as their wide receivers coach.

The Dolphins finished the 2019 season at 5-11 under Flores in his first season with the franchise. That record is more impressive when you consider the team started the year at 0-7—then finished 5-4 in the last nine weeks of the season. However, despite more positive feelings emerging in the second half of the grueling year, the Dolphins finished with the sixth-worst offense by yards.

Miami had a middle-of-the-pack passing game with veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick mostly getting the starting job despite an insurgency from second-year signal-caller Josh Rosen; however, the Dolphins also finished dead last in the running game following trading running back Kenyan Drake.

With one year under his belt, it sure will be interesting to see who Brian Flores hires as his new offensive coordinator. Flores comes from the defensive side of the ball in his coaching career and it will be crucial for the franchise to get this hire right to propel them into the future alongside their young head coach.
