Now that Brian Flores is officially the Miami Dolphins head coach, his coaching team is starting to come together, beginning with Chad O'Shea.

O'Shea comes to the team from the New England Patriots, where he served as the wide receiver coach from 2009 until 2018. He was also with the Minnesota Vikings for three years in various positions — first, he served as the offensive assistant, then he served as the wide receivers coach, and he concluded his tenure as the assistant special teams coach. He was also the assistant special teams coach for the Kansas City Chiefs.

In total, O'Shea has about 15 years of coaching experience, on the professional level.

But O'Shea has more than just coaching experience — he has some experience playing on the field, as well, though only at the collegiate level.

He played football at the University of Houston, where he was the quarterback of the team in 1994 and 1995.

In 1996, he moved behind the field at his alma mater to take his first coaching position, where he served as a graduate assistant. The following year, he was promoted to wide receivers coach. He became tight ends coach and special teams coach in 1998 and added recruiting coordinator to those duties in 1999.

In 2000, O'Shea moved to the University of Mississippi, where he served as special teams coach and recruiting coordinator for three years. His first job with the NFL — as the assistant special teams coach — was on a volunteer basis.

With the Dolphins desperate for a win, it should be interesting to see how O'Shea helps to turn the ship around.
