The Miami Dolphins' search for their next head coach appears to be over, as they seem to be very much locked in on New England Patriots defensive coordinator Brian Flores.

Flores has a mission to follow through with prior to taking his talents elsewhere, as the Patriots are playing in their third straight Super Bowl. Flores has been fantastic in his one and only season as the team's defensive coordinator. He has been with the Patriots since 2004 when he started out as a scouting assistant, and now he has moved up the ranks admirably.

Flores will likely have his work cut out for him with the Miami Dolphins considering they are nowhere near the caliber of team the Patriots are. The Dolphins are a young team with a lot of potential, but the roster requires a lot of additions and possibly some big changes as well.

One position in particular is quarterback considering it has been an issue for years now. Ryan Tannehill is talented, but his lack of consistency and ability to stay healthy are both big red flags Flores may assess if he accepts the job.

The Dolphins are likely the second best team in the division behind the Patriots under the correct coaching staff, but they lack playmakers and a true defensive identity. The defense has some fantastic talent for Flores to work with, but their best asset by far in 2o18 was their secondary. The Dolphins need a more cohesive plan on both sides of the ball, and they hope Flores is the man to give them one.
