The Miami Dolphins are receiving yet another blow to their already banged-up team, as star WR DeVante Parker has been sent to IR, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Being placed on IR means Parker is set to miss at least the Dolphins' next three games of the season, if not more. The injury definitely comes at a bad time for Parker and the Dolphins, who have seen themselves fall into last place in the division and at the bottom of the AFC.

The team cannot afford any more losses and Parker cannot afford any more injuries. 2019 was the only season in his seven-year career in which Parker has played in all of his teams' games, and even then he was limited in two of them. Miami, in general, has been ravaged by injuries this season, most notably when quarterback Tua Tagovailoa missed time this season with a rib injury.

Parker technically has two years left on his contract, but if the Dolphins designate him as a “post-June 1” cut in 2022, they are only on the hook for another $2.25 million. That is likely what the Dolphins will choose to do if Parker fails to come back and/or make an impact this season. The team drafted receiver Jaylen Waddle in the first round of this year's draft and is clearly ready for him to be the No. 1 wideout for their future. That puts Parker's future into uncertain waters, especially if he cannot return this season from this injury.
