The Miami Dolphins seem to have liked what they've seen so far from Allen Hurns. As a result, Miami has signed Hurns to a two-year, $8 million extension per Ian Rapoport.

Among the $8 million, $3.27 million of it is guaranteed for the Dolphins' wide receiver. That's not bad for a wide receiver who dislocated his ankle less than a year ago.

Last year, Hurns signed with the Dallas Cowboys after spending his first four seasons in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars. While with the Jaguars, Hurns' best season came in 2015 when he posted 64 receptions for 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns (all career highs).

Then, in his only season in Dallas, Hurns totaled 20 receptions, 295 yards, and two touchdowns. On Hurns' only reception in the playoffs for the Cowboys in 2018, he sustained a gruesome injury to his ankle.

After beginning his recovery to return to the field, the Cowboys decided to release the veteran wideout. Following his release, Hurns spent some time in free agency before the Dolphins signed him to a one-year, $2.5 million deal back in July.

Hurns was able to return to the field in Week 1 for the Dolphins and has somewhat of a contributor in the offense. Through the first 10 weeks, Hurns has combined for 13 receptions for 170 yards and a score.

Due to injuries at the wide receiver position, Hurns has begun to get more snaps in Miami's offense. In his short body of work in Miami, the Dolphins are confident that Hurns can become a reliable option in their offense moving forward.
