Just a day after he was placed on waivers by the Houston Texans, running back Phillip Lindsay has already found a new home. The Miami Dolphins have snatched up the veteran, giving them more depth in the backfield. Via Dov Kleiman:

A quick turnaround for Lindsay, but not surprising. While he did struggle during his short stint in Houston, the 27-year-old can still be a solid option for the Dolphins, who currently sit 31st in the NFL in rushing yards.

Myles Gaskin has received most of the touches this season but is rushing for only 3.5 yards per carry and one touchdown. Malcolm Brown is still injured, while Salvon Ahmed isn't the most productive.

Lindsay played 10 games for the Texans in 2021, racking up 130 yards on 50 carries. He's certainly not the same player as his All-Pro days with the Denver Broncos, but perhaps a change of scenery could be a good thing for him.

Given the Dolphins' lack of consistent players at RB, Lindsay should have the chance to compete for touches, especially since they're absolutely dreadful at running the ball this season. Brian Flores' squad has won three straight, but the bulk of their offense is being generated downfield thanks to Tua Tagovailoa.

Nevertheless, it's worth a shot for the Dolphins to give Phillip Lindsay an opportunity. He's a proven player in this league and brings experience to the table.
