The Miami Dolphins' quarterback saga took another interesting twist in Week 6, as Josh Rosen was benched midway through the Dolphins' loss to the Washington Redskins and Ryan Fitzpatrick reclaimed his starting job.

Fitzpatrick remained under center this past Sunday during Miami's loss to the Buffalo Bills, completing 23 of his 35 passes for 282 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Afterward, the veteran signal-caller said he thinks he is the right guy for the Dolphins at the moment:

“I think I’m the perfect man for the job because I’ve been through it. I have zero ego. All I want to do is go out there and win,” Fitzpatrick said, according to Safid Deen of The South Florida Sun Sentinel.

“I want to bring energy. I want my play to be infectious to other guys. We have a lot of young guys that haven’t really played much on this level. We have some young talented guys a year or two into it. I want to be the stable guy they can look to when things get a little tricky.”

Of course, the Dolphins are 0-6, so there isn't much to look forward to this season, and with the franchise clearly rebuilding, some have questioned why first-year head coach Brian Flores has gone back to a 36-year-old journeyman to start at quarterback.

Fitzpatrick started the first two games of the season before Flores benched him in favor of Rosen, whom the club acquired from the Arizona Cardinals for a third-round pick during draft weekend.

However, Rosen underwhelmed as the starter, causing Flores to swap Rosen and Fitzpatrick once again.

Whether or not Flores made the right decision remains to be seen, but Fitzpatrick is obviously confident he can play a significant role for this young Dolphins squad.
