Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores recently praised Josh Rosen for how much he has improved this offseason, but Ryan Fitzpatrick is still in the lead for the quarterback battle. Flores was asked if Rosen would be working with the ones during Thursday's preseason game and he said he saw Fitzpatrick getting that shot, although things could still change before Thursday.

Fitzpatrick is the veteran and has been around the league for a while, while Rosen is entering just his second year in the league. Rosen is still learning the ropes of the NFL, but Flores has been really impressed with how he has improved his footwork.

“I think he’s made some improvement, really across the board,” Flores said, via Jelani Scott of NFL.com. “There’s things that a lot of people don’t see. Better footwork, mechanics in the pocket, decision-making. A lot of times people, all they see is the touchdown pass; they don’t see the checkdown that’s a positive play for the team. I think he’s improved in those areas and I think those are the little things that go a long way at that position.”

At this point, even with Rosen improving and Flores now singing his praises, it seems that this is Fitzpatrick's job to lose. All he probably needs to do at this point is to make the smart plays during the preseason games and not turn the ball over and he should be the starting quarterback come Week 1 against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
