Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase admitted after Sunday’s win over the Chicago Bears that he’s grown tired of fielding questions about quarterback Ryan Tannehill from the media. The Dolphins starter missed out due to a shoulder injury which suddenly got worse on Friday.

Gase cooled off enough to entertain more questions about Tannehill during his Monday press conference. Although Gase said he’s confident Tannehill would be able to play and start again this season, he admitted he doesn't know exactly Tannehill would return.

“I’m not sure. I really don’t know. I don’t know the answer. It’s day to day. It’s really going to come down to how he feels,” Gase said per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

Tannehill had been dealing with the injury to his right throwing shoulder over the past few weeks. Still, he had been healthy enough to play in the team’s previous two games against the Patriots and Bengals and was a full participant in practice ahead of the Bears game. However, he suffered some sort of setback on Friday and was eventually deemed unable to go.

Brock Osweiler had a terrific game in place of Tannehill as he torched the top-ranked Bears defense for 380 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Dolphins to the 31-28 upset in overtime.

But based on Osweiler’s career track record, the Dolphins shouldn’t expect that type of performance from him on a consistent basis. That’s why it’s important for Tannehill to get healthy and return from that shoulder issue as soon as possible.
