It has been a rough few years for the Miami Dolphins when it comes to the quarterback position. Ryan Tannehill brought some hope to the struggling franchise that they may have found their quarterback of the future, but injury problems have marred the last couple years shedding doubt on his long-term viability.

Last year, the Dolphins were forced into a tough situation due to Tannehill's knee injury which required surgery ending his 2017 campaign before it began. Now it appears they can get back to business as usual for 2018 with the quarterback not expected to have limitations for OTAs, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

According to Dolphins sources the expectation is Tannehill — who missed the final month of 2016 with a partially torn ACL and all of last season when he further tore the same ligament — will be able to participate in the OTAs with little or no limitations.

Before last season got underway, the Dolphins addressed the loss of Tannehill by signing veteran Jay Cutler who was headed into retirement. The team's brass vows not to make a similar move this time around if Tannehill goes down again.

In 2016, Tannehill finished 2,995 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. The two previous seasons he threw for over 4,000 yards in consecutive years while also throwing for a combined 51 touchdowns.

Although Tannehill isn't considered to be among the NFL's top players at his position, the 29-year-old is a formidable option at quarterback and could flourish if he's able to stay healthy with the right weapons around him in Miami.
