The Miami Dolphins brought in Shaquem Griffin for a visit on Friday as they look to bolster their defense. Well, Griffin ended up signing a one-year deal with the Dolphins, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

This is a bit of a homecoming for Griffin, who played his college ball at UCF and now will go back to Florida and join the Dolphins after spending the first few seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks.

Shaquil Griffin, oddly enough, joined the Jacksonville Jaguars, so now both Griffins are playing NFL ball in the state of Florida. Shaquem's deal is for one year and he can definitely earn more next free agency if he performs well.

The Dolphins make a lot of sense for Griffin and he provides more depth for a team that finished just one game away from the playoffs last season, which was the first year with Tua Tagovailoa at the help. Miami also released Kyle Van Noy but added Jaelan Phillips, so their defensive group looks a bit different than it did from 2020.

The Dolphins are also facing questions regarding cornerback Xavien Howard, and after adding Jaylen Waddle in the NFL Draft, there is a lot to like about the way Miami's roster is shaping up for the 2021 NFL season.
