Earlier in the week, the Miami Dolphins made a pretty surprising announcement. Rookie Tua Tagovailoa was taking over as the starting quarterback.

Now according to Emily Giambalvo of the washingtonpost.com, his younger brother Taulia Tagovailoa will be making his first career College start on Saturday, just a week before his brother's first career NFL start.

Miami's move was pretty surprising due to the direction of the team. They are currently riding a two-game winning-streak and have won three of their last four games. Meanwhile, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was having a solid year without Tua Tagovailoa playing.

So making the switch now seemed to cause a lot of people to scratch their heads. Undoubtedly Tua Tagovailoa will be a great quarterback in his career, the timing just seems odd.

However, the younger brother is a little less surprising. He actually played at Alabama with his older brother, but transferred before this year. Now with Maryland, he was announced as the starter ahead of their first game of the season, against Northwestern on Saturday, October 24.

Tagovailoa transferred to Maryland with the idea that he would be fighting for the starting spot. Clearly he has won it to start the season.

It remains to be seen how either of the two brothers produce in their new roles. Expectations are pretty high for both however, especially Tua Tagovailoa.

With that in mind, we now have one of the more interesting storylines of 2020. Two brothers getting their first chance to start at a new level. The elder playing in the NFL with the Dolphins, looking to see if he can help them make a playoff run.
