Through the first few weeks of the offseason, the Miami Dolphins have made several different moves that have involved the departure of a few key players from the roster. This conversation had begun to center on the front office looking to possibly part ways with All-Pro defensive tackle in the coming days.

In fact, there was a growing notion that the team would part ways with Suh this week leading up to the start of the free agency period. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Dolphins have decided to let go of the 31-year-old making him a free agent for just the second time in his career.

This move allows the Dolphins to get out of the final three years of his six-year, $114.3 million deal with the team where he scheduled to make around $76.6 million over that span. However, this puts a $22.2 million dead money cap hit for the 2018 season only freeing up around $4 million in additional salary cap space.

Suh now enters the free agent market where he will be a highly sought-out commodity as there were early reports over the last few days that eight teams have already expressed interest in adding him to the mix. He is still one of the league's best defensive tackles that has several highly productive seasons ahead of him if he still wants to play. His resume speaks for itself having earned five Pro Bowl selections, four First-Team All-Pro nods, and two Second-Team All-Pro selections.

There was a notable drop in production this past season recording 47 total tackles and 4.5 sacks, but it shouldn't create any significant cause for concern about what he can still do at this point of his career.

Suh has the ability to be a game-changing player, which should put him in line to receive another lucrative contract offer. Things on this front should pick up significantly over the next few days.
