The Miami Dolphins are not exactly enamored with the idea of Ryan Tannehill at quarterback, so a replacement could be coming this offseason. Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report mentions New Orleans Saints signal-caller Teddy Bridgewater as a possibility.

Bridgewater has had a rough NFL career this far.

The 26-year-old was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft and made the Pro Bowl in his second season, but the following year, Bridgewater suffered a devastating knee injury in training camp which sidelined him for 2016.

By the time Bridgewater was ready to return last season, the Vikings already had Case Keenum under center, making him the odd man out.

The Miami native then signed with the New York Jets last March, only to be traded to the Saints in August.

Now, keep in mind that New Orleans traded a third-round pick for Bridgewater as insurance for 39-year-old quarterback Drew Brees, so it's entirely possible the Saints try to re-sign Bridgewater this offseason.

However, the Dolphins should be one of the teams interested in Bridgewater's services.

Let's face it: the Tannehill experiment needs to end, and all indications are that Miami is ready to move on from the 30-year-old. Tannehill has been the Dolphins' starting quarterback for six years, and they haven't gone anywhere.

It's time for a change.

Of course, given Bridgewater's injury history, he would be a risky signing, but it's a risk that the Dolphins may need to take.

The good news is that Miami may get to see him in action this weekend. With the Saints having the No. 1 seed in the NFC locked up, playing Brees all 60 minutes wouldn't make much sense, so Bridgewater should get some burn.
