The Miami Dolphins made a bit of a splash last offseason with the acquisition of former Los Angeles Rams defensive end Robert Quinn. Unfortunately, it appears his stint in Miami has already come to a close.

The Dolphins have made some significant changes this offseason. According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Quinn will likely be on his way out of town:

The Dolphins assuredly will move on from Robert Quinn (saving $12.9 million in cap space) and likely Andre Branch (saving $7 million, with a $2 million cap hit). A rebuilding team seems less than the ideal place for Cam Wake, though his return cannot completely be ruled out.

It is no secret that Quinn is hardly the player he was back in 2013 when he registered 19 sacks and was given First-Team All-Pro honors. His production had toiled in his last few years with the Rams. However, he was still a serviceable option in an otherwise lackluster defensive line.

Quinn started all 16 games for Miami in the 2018 campaign. He registered 38 tackles, two forced fumbles, and a team-high 6.5 sacks. He certainly fared much better than Branch did this season after he accumulated only 25 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Their modest production contributed to a group that recorded only 31 sacks all season.

As a result, it appears there will be some serious turnover to the Dolphins' roster this offseason.

Quinn's potential prospects on the market remain to be seen. There is no question he is in the final phase of his career.

However, his status as a pass-rusher should help him quickly find a new home if Miami does indeed decide to part ways.
