The Miami Dolphins were betting on upside and talent when they selected former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Tua went into the 2019 season as the presumptive No. 1 overall pick, but he suffered a dislocated hip in November.

Tagovailoa consistently seemed to be making progress in his rehab. He filmed a virtual pro day and also passed a physical administered by the Dolphins.

Still, there seemed to be reason to question just how much the hip injury will impact Tagovailoa's mobility and throwing mechanics. This is all the more pertinent given the difficulties beset on the players because of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, Tua looks like he is in great shape. Field Yates of ESPN tweeted out a clip of Tagovailoa doing a ladder drill, with Tua displaying some nifty footwork and agility.

The Dolphins might not be thinking of Tagovailoa as their starter in 2020, but he is putting in the work all the same.

Tua is undoubtedly the quarterback of the future in Miami, and he will have every opportunity to compete for playing time this season.

If nothing else, Dolphins fans have to be excited by the work ethic and dedication.
