Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been hit with the injury bug yet again, with him dealing with shoulder issues that is expected to keep him out of the mix for at least over the next few weeks.

Tannehill has already been declared out for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, which will mark the second straight contest that he will be out of action. With that said, there has been no clarity about how severe the injury but head coach Adam Gase did state that it isn't one that will require surgery like Indianapolis Colts star quarterback Andrew Luck had to go through, according to Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald.

The injury appeared to happen against the Cincinnati Bengals after he was stripped sack as his right arm was pulled back at an awkward angle. Aside from that, there hasn't been any insight as to how long he may be out and what plan of action the team will take with him moving forward as the Dolphins have been quite tight-lipped about the entire matter.

The Dolphins don't appear to be too concerned about the situation, but rather are taking precautionary measures in order to get a better idea of what will lie ahead of him in his recovery from the injury. In the meantime, the team will continue to turn to veteran quarterback Brock Osweiler to lead the team in Tannehill's absence.

Osweiler had performed reasonably well against one of the best defenses in the league last Sunday completing 28-of-44 passes for 380 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in the comeback 31-28 overtime win. Granted, a sizeable chunk of his production came on a couple of long touchdown receptions from wide receiver Albert Wilson he was still able to put his team in the position to get over on top. Osweiler has an opportunity in front of him to push the Dolphins to another step closer to the playoffs.
