This offseason, the Oklahoma City Thunder were able to acquire Domantas Sabonis from the Orlando Magic.

Sabonis came over to the Thunder in a deal that was not even focused around him. The trade was all about Victor Oladipo, but Sabonis might be the biggest steal.

The Lithuanian big was the 11th overall pick this year out of Gonzaga. He played two seasons there and averaged 13.5 points and 9.4 rebounds. Sabonis showed plenty of potential in college, but was more impressive in the Olympics as he was a major contributor for the Lithuanian national team. Oklahoma City is hoping that he can carry his game over to the NBA with ease.

During the Thunder's first scrimmage of the season, Sabonis did just that. According to Erik Horne of The Oklahoman, Sabonis made a good impression on the team:

For the White Team, Sabonis joined a starting five combination of Steven Adams, Andre Roberson, Victor Oladipo and Russell Westbrook. Sabonis made his first four shots from the field for 10 points on a variety of moves in the first quarter.

Sabonis played the two-man game with Oladipo, setting a screen then spotting up for a baseline jumper. He hit a 3-pointer. The 20-year-old followed with intelligent cut in which Adams found him with a slick underhanded pass.

It is interesting to see the lineup that Billy Donovan had Sabonis playing with. It was not some ragtag lineup, it was a lineup that included four players that are believed to be starters. The Thunder's starter at the four position has not yet been decided but if Sabonis can impress this preseason, then it might be his to lose.

Sabonis has the ability to work inside, create shots for his other teammates, and hit an outside shot. Sabonis playing with the starters will also give Enes Kanter the chance to come off the bench. Kanter coming off the bench gives the Thunder a big offensive push for the second unit. He could be the face of their entire second unit.

The Thunder have quite a bit to figure out before the season starts. They only have a few weeks to get it done so they better be moving quick.
