The Golden State Warriors faced off against the Washington Wizards on Friday night that started off as a barn burner in Oracle Arena as both teams traded baskets until the Wizards were able to pull away and ending the half with a 14 point lead 67-53.

It was only the beginning of the Warriors woes as forward Draymond Green and Bradley Beal got into a scuffle under the basket just prior to halftime, which led to both players being ejected and a scramble of teammates around them trying to diffuse the fight.

One player, however, will pay a penalty when the league reviews the tapes after the game for breaking the rules instead. Wizards young forward Kelly Oubre Jr. upon seeing the scuffle immediately ran full speed appearing to help stop the altercation but instead got involved.

While there were several players around him at the time, cameras were able to catch Oubre throwing a couple of punches, one appearing to be in the back of the head of teammate John Wall.

Oubre also threw another punch at the face of guard Klay Thompson who was in the vicinity trying to help break up the scuffle as coaches and teammates came over to assist.

During an altercation players not in the game are required to remain on the bench in order to not escalate situations, and while players on the court are permitted to help break up scuffles, they are never encouraged to throw punches. Oubre will likely be suspended and fined once the league is able to comb through the footage, and he will pay the penalty for not having a cooler head unfortunately.
