Draymond Green has been nothing less than excited to be apart of the squad playing for coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Green will be vital in a weaker, but able US team grabbing a third consecutive gold medal, since losing in the medal rounds in 2004.

There is not enough pressure the situation has been able to present that can stop him from being thrilled about the opportunity.

Green spoke with Sports Illustrated regarding his time with Team USA:

When you're playing for the USA, you're playing a country, you're playing for those that came before you, those that come after you. And you know I'm thrilled for the opportunity just to go out and play for my country.

Green will be in a somewhat familiar situation playing alongside teammates Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, and he can use the opportunity to create a bond before the next NBA season begins.

He is however honored to don the red, white, and blue, and is focused on winning the gold medal next month.

Not many people get to do that, and it's not something that I take for granted and I'm very very thankful for it.

The next USA exhibition game takes place July 31st at the Toyota Center in Houston Texas.
