The play of Draymond Green has been under extra scrutiny in the Western Conference Finals after his now infamous kick to Steven Adams earned him a flagrant-2 foul. In the Thunder‘s Game 3 blowout of the Warriors, Green had a historically bad plus-minus. He followed it up with another subpar performance in Game 4.

After Tuesday's loss found Golden State down 3-1 in the series, Green spoke to reporters about his disappointing play:

“I guess it's the first time in my life that I didn't respond to critics, and that's what kind of has been my story, and I haven't done that, so I've got to do that.”

Without Green, the Warriors' emotional catalyst, performing at his normal level, the defending champs have seemed relatively lifeless against their opponent in the two games in Oklahoma City. In Game 4 he only shot 1-of-7 and had six turnovers. He said after the game:

“I bring the energy to this team, and I have not been that. I think our energy goes as my energy goes, and I've been awful.”

If Golden State hopes to rally back to win the final three games of the series and claim a spot in the NBA Finals, they'll need Green – and his energy – at peak level.
