Duke star Zion Williamson suffered a Grade 1 right knee sprain on Wednesday against North Carolina and is considered day-to-day.

Williamson tried to explode to the basket and then his left shoe tore off. Zion left the game and didn't return.

This is great news for Duke basketball and Zion Williamson, who is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

In 26 games this season, Williamson is averaging 21.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest. The high-flyer is shooting 68.3 percent from the field, 29.2 percent from beyond the arc and 66.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Since it's just a sprain, all signs point toward Zion playing again this season for Duke. After Williamson suffered the injury, NBA stars took to social media to voice their displeasure about the NCAA and how players don't get paid. A lot of people believe star high school players should be able to go directly to the NBA like the old days.

Duke is 23-3 on the season. They are first in the ACC and will likely have a high seed in the NCAA tournament which starts in March. Basketball fans everywhere are just happy Zion Williamson didn't suffer a serious injury which would have jeopardized his NBA Draft stock.
