Uncomfortable is the best way to describe Kevin Durant has he sat and answered questions for around 25 minutes yesterday in Las Vegas before a Team USA basketball practice.

It was the first media availability since he was announced as a member of the Golden State Warriors. Essentially, the first time he had to answer some of the hard questions about his decision.

KD answered them all, admitting he was hurt because he knew he was hurting so many Thunder fans.

Nothing Durant says is going to ease the pain for the people in OKC. He single-handedly made the franchise irrelevant when it comes to their championship aspirations by leaving.

It's clear, though, how tough the decision was for Durant, at least when it came to his public perception. He always mentions how he didn't want to disappoint the Thunder fan base and he appreciated so much what was built in OKC for eight years. But at the end of the day, despite those concerns he still made the decision to join the Warriors. He just really wanted to do it.

He said it wasn't Russell Westbrook‘s style of play that pushed him away either.

Via Anthony Slater of The Oklahoman:

“No, it wasn't (a reason I left),” Durant said of Westbrook. “It wasn't. Obviously coming out now, all these reports are gonna come out. But I can't really control it. I made a decision based on where I wanted to go. Simple as that. We can talk about all the reasons and the factors, but it's simple. (Golden State) is where I wanted to play basketball.”

Durant showed some frustration with the questions in this video:

Durant can be frustrated all he wants, but this is just the beginning when it comes to fielding questions about his decision. He will be pressed all season long, just as he was yesterday.
