Stephen Curry put most of the questions about his health to rest with a stellar performance in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, but Kevin Durant still believes he has the best overall point guard in the series on his side.

When a question arose about Curry's defense being underrated after the Warriors pushed the series to at least six games, Durant came back with a firm response.

Durant, in his postgame interview:

“He's pretty good but he doesn't [usually] guard the best point guards…

“I like our matchup with him guarding Russ.”

If you watch the video of KD answering the question, it appears that he believes Russell Westbrook‘s offensive abilities are superior to Curry's defensive skills, but he still wants to be respectful with his comments. Initially, he struggles to find his words, probably because he doesn't agree that Curry's defense is all that understated.

Durant added that the Warriors have to use both Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala to help Curry defend Westbrook over the course of a full game. That's true, but it's also probably also because Golden State doesn't want to exhaust Curry by having him chase Westbrook all over the court, taking away his energy to perform offensively.

Through the first five games, Russ has averaged 28 points, 11 assists, 6.6 rebounds, and four steals per game. Curry is at 25.6 points, 4.8 assists, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.6 steals. Enjoy it, people.
