On Wednesday, it was revealed that entertainer extraordinaire, former WWE superstar and one of the new owners of the XFL, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has tested positive for COVID-19. Unfortunately, Johnson's entire immediate family has been affected as his wife and two daughters also tested positive for the coronavirus.

Thankfully, Johnson made a point to note that his family is on the upswing in terms of a recovery, though it was definitely an uphill battle.

“My message to all of you around the [world],” Johnson wrote on Instagram upon formally announcing the news. “Stay disciplined. Boost your immune system. Commit to wellness. Wear your mask. Protect your family. Be strict about having people over your house or gatherings. Stay positive. And care for your fellow human beings. Stay healthy, my friends.”

On a more positive note, Johnson recently managed to help acquire the XFL as the alternative professional football league was forced into bankruptcy due to the initial damage done by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Prior to the pandemic taking its toll on the world and eventually the former WWE superstar, the XFL was doing quite well as its second version was thriving under the watch of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck.

While it remains to be seen how the third installment of the XFL will ultimately fair, the league appears to be in very good hands at the moment under the careful guidance of superstar actor and wrestler Dwayne Johnson.

There have been no plans to announce when the XFL's next season will take place as the 2020 campaign was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has now personally impacted Dwayne Johnson and his family.

The XFL ended its rebooted season earlier this spring after successfully installing several rule changes that even the NFL will adopt, including a “sky judge“—an official looking on with a bird's eye view. Numerous ex-XFL players signed with NFL teams, too.

Johnson has his hands full with the new-new generation of XFL football.
