During this unpredictable NBA free agency, Dwyane Wade signed with his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls. Many teams had the chance to pitch to the three-time champion but weren’t quite able to lure him to their city; one of those teams was the Denver Nuggets.

Wade’s homecoming took him away from his adopted home of Miami, where he achieved much success. The twelve-time All-Star considered heading to the Mile High City but ultimately the Nuggets couldn’t quite do enough to convince him.

It may have appeared to be a pipe dream for many, as Denver didn’t seem to have a realistic chance of landing the future hall of famer, but Wade took to Twitter to explain how he felt about the Nuggets’ efforts.

Whilst the Nuggets will be disappointed to miss out on Wade, they will be grateful for his message. Much like the way in which the Boston Celtics appreciate Kevin Durant considering them, the Nuggets will benefit from Wade’s apparent interest, as other free agents will see that a top-tier talent considered the organization as a credible option. If Dwyane Wade is considering playing for your team, you’ve got something going on.

The Nuggets will now continue to look for options to improve their roster and add a transcendent player to their young, exciting unit.
